JESUS, AND SHALL IT EVER BE

I'd like to share this beautiful Poem by Joseph Grigg in 1765.I came across it way back in the 90's in one of the books of Charles Swindoll. Come read along ,the timeless words of this Poem will remind us of the reasons on why we should not be ashamed of Jesus.

JESUS, AND SHALL IT EVER BE

Jesus, and shall it ever be,
A mortal man, ashamed of Thee?
Ashamed of Thee, whom angels praise,
Whose glories shine through endless days?

Ashamed of Jesus! sooner far
Let night disown each radiant star!
’Tis midnight with my soul, till He,
Bright Morning Star, bid darkness flee.

Ashamed of Jesus! O as soon
Let morning blush to own the sun!
He sheds the beams of light divine
O’er this benighted soul of mine.

Ashamed of Jesus! that dear Friend
On Whom my hopes of Heav’n depend!
No; when I blush, be this my shame,
That I no more revere His Name.

Ashamed of Jesus! yes, I may
When I’ve no guilt to wash away;
No tear to wipe, no good to crave,
No fears to quell, no soul to save.

Ashamed of Jesus! empty pride!
I’ll boast a Savior crucified,
And O may this my portion be,
My Savior not ashamed of me!

A lesson from the Clouds

It has been years since I flew with a propeller plane. The last one was in 1994 when I visited Beniel in Baguio.I must admit that those times were different because all I wanted is to see her and just spend time with her.
Many people are actually afraid to fly with the PAL Express. It was a little bumpy especially during takeoff and touchdown. As we flew to the infinite sky I always make it a point to entrust my life to God and at least text my wife and family how much I love them. On my way up and as we glide down Ormoc , one cannot miss to see people becomes smaller and smaller and finally dissolved into insignificance compared to the largeness of infinity.Seeing this I cant help but bow my heart knowing that – that was me an insignificant person , just one among the crowds but Jesus cared and died for me. That is grace.

A Carpenter's Dream

My Dad is an accomplished Civil engineer-having dedicated his career life in working for the government. He built roads and bridges and has been a sought after Consultant until he finally retired last year. But those achievements seem incomplete until about six months ago.All these time Dad dreamed of creating his masterpiece - a round table.

As a young boy, I remember his story that after high school Daddy practiced his carpentry for three years in order to support the family. We both graduated from a Trade School but honestly to this day..I see myself as a kindergarten compared to a Dad who can always play in the big league of carpentry. I am proud to be a Carpenter's son and I am happy knowing that my Dad fulfilled his dream to build a round table for the generations to come.

JJ thinks Mom's Spaghetti is the best

Honestly I'm not so fond of Spag but not my Boy. JJ loves spaghetti ..i mean loves spag very much.Beniel told me that when JJ is still in the womb, she's having spag all day.Well i guess that the reason why. And this is the scoop--every time Mommy cooks one, JJ never fail to tell Beniel that he thinks Mom's spag is the best in town. I just smile and laugh in the inside , its not that i disagree but I felt happy to learn that my boy have grown to be thankful.

JJ is not the star of the class but I am a proud father knowing that he is emotionally stable and is trying his best to be the person that God wanted him to be. I told him once that life isn't about great achievements and honors- those are important things but the more important things are his love and faith in God .Like that simple Mom's recipe for an Antipolo blend spaghetti these values will take him safe through life because great things are built on a strong foundation.
